WELCOME TO IRAQ ENERGY FORUM 2017

About Conference
On behalf of the Iraq Energy Institute it is my pleasure to welcome you to the 3rd Iraq Energy Forum (IEF 2017), taking place in Baghdad on the 2nd and 3rd of April 2017.

With the patronage of the Iraqi Government and the support of H.E. Prime Minister Haider al Abadi and H.E. Oil Minister Jabbar al Luaibi, the IEF 2017 agenda will include vital discussions on timely topics related to Iraq’s oil, gas and power sectors following the liberation of occupied territories from the so-called Islamic State.

Despite financial challenges impacting the Middle East region as a whole, Iraq is now over the worst. The possibilities remain immense, with potentially one trillion U.S. dollars in investment forecast in the coming years, 50% of which is in the hydrocarbon sector. This is unsurprising, given the remarkably low extraction cost of Iraqi petroleum, which will endure even the worst market volatility.

Among the topics on the agenda will be the forthcoming upstream and downstream tenders in 2017.

Attending the forum will be tier-one government officials, lawmakers, international experts, investors and policy makers, presenting a golden opportunity to discuss strategies for a more sustainable Iraq.

We at the Iraq Energy Institute are committed to creating a platform for professional dialogue where we can maximize opportunities inherent in some of the challenges facing the region, and develop Iraq’s energy sector for the benefit of all Iraqis and the investors’ community.

Please secure your participation as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. We hope to see you in Baghdad soon!
